The last cruise ships departed Galveston in March of 2020, displaying the message “We will be back” written out in their stateroom lights. Today they finally came back! Cruising is not yet ready to start, but two beautiful cruise ships have come home. They will wait in Galveston, have repairs done, and will be ready once cruising starts up again. To many of us, they’re a familiar sight, and one we definitely missed. It was so good to see them today!
My friends and I also explored the blooming cemetery and a few other places, then drove back to Houston for a lovely dinner at Indianola. By the end of the day we were sun kissed and tired, and had the distinct feeling that summer had arrived.
