Channeling My Favorite Movie

A lot has happened since yesterday! Mostly I calmed down and instead of nervous got really really excited! The tiles are all on the walls, they’re crazy colorful, and I realized the aesthetic reminds me of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown – my favorite movie of all times!

I had a really nice gallery visit today too. Hugo Perez, one of my favorite Houston artists, whose work I’ve admired for years, came by to pick up a watercolor he bought from the Galveston show. We got to have a really nice visit, and he gave me lots of great input about ways to hang the tiles – and other things as well. I love artists supporting artists, so I’m very excited about this new friendship!

The rest of the day went by in a blur of color, but it was a happy blur. Perhaps there is something magical about these crazy paintings I’ve made. Perhaps they really can help lift people’s moods. They’ve sure lifted mine.

And the hardcover version of The Glory Days of Aimée Bonnard arrived today! Isn’t it pretty?
