Today it rained but the temperature was relatively mild. Dare I hope winter is over? I think there might be another cold day or two next week, but a gal can dream… Warmer weather certainly makes me feel more optimistic, so today, after taking myself out for a scrumptious pancake breakfast at The Porch restaurant, which is right by my favorite beach, I tackled the second bedroom at Blackbird Cottage, which is also my studio, therefore full of boxes of art supplies and such. I made a comfortable twin-sized bed by cutting a queen-size foam mattress in half and stacking the two pieces, I stored away some of my supplies and power tools, then I nailed the large painting of a grackle I had started on a few weeks ago to the wall and finished it. I plan to get a little nightstand and lamp for that room too. Soon, someone will be able to comfortably stay there and the cottage will be able to sleep three people without any of them having to be on the living room couch. I’m quite happy with how it’s coming along!
