Fast and Loose

Last night I saw a potter friend I hadn’t crossed paths with in a while. He gave me a beautiful dish custom made for watercolor. It inspired me to sit down and paint first thing in the morning, which was just what I needed. I made another rendering of the Hendley Building, this one contemporary, also fast and loose.

Other friends have been sweet and generous too. They made lots of nice gestures to try to console me for the loss of my puppy. People came by, they brought flowers, sweets, a Labubu even! Friends sent cards. They texted and called. And over and over they said they, too, would miss Holly. I’m glad she had so much love from so many. This makes me feel good. Also, I went back to the Menil to study the little dragon. It has an underbite, just like her.

Also, a collector sent me a beautiful picture of my fish paintings in their bathroom. I really love how they integrated them into their decor.

I like the Labubu. She looks happy and just a little bit evil. Good reminder that I should misbehave often.
