Maybe this is a painting of a blue heron, or maybe it’s an accurate depiction of me, feeling tired and a bit cranky after entertaining yesterday and staying up too late. So, what did I do to make myself feel better? I gathered forces and drove down to the Island. I spent some time by myself, or rather just me and the dog. I watched the sunset, inhaled salt air, tried in vain to take pictures of the upcoming full moon. I ate a healthy dinner, including fruit left over from the party. I painted a heron who seems to be in a mood. Now I plan to go to bed early with a good book so that tomorrow I can wake up refreshed, have coffee with my porch cat, and do a little writing.
