Who would have ever thought that I’d have a lovely time on the coldest day of the year – I who totally despise the cold! But the day started with cozy coffee in front of my gas heater and lots of feisty grackles in my tree (I discovered they like cat treats!). Then I got all bundled up and headed downtown for the first day of Art Week. I’m part of an interior painting competition and I got to paint inside the beautiful Ashton Villa – a historic house with a sweeping straircase and an incredible storm survival story. I hadn’t been in there in many many years, and it was such a dream! I couldn’t believe we get to go in there and actually paint.
In the evening I crafted a sweater for my poor shivering mostly furless dog out of an old cashmere scarf. As one does. She looks funny in it, and I just love it!
