Today my friend and I went to have decadent Indian lunch. Then we went to the art supply store and a few other places. We ended up at her seamstress’ little shop where she picked up a dress while I covetously eyed a table full of old fashion magazines. My friend asked if I could have some, and the seamstress graciously agreed. She seemed amused by my wanting these, but magazines are excellent for collages (or photo transfer, depending on the ink). I’m getting ready for a collage workshop later this month. I have several lovely ladies already signed up, and while I intend to buy them brand new copies of French Vogue and other beautiful things, creativity is all about mixing things up. I have a plan as to how we’ll best use magazines old and new while searching for inspiration.
