How do you say Yellow Crowned Night Heron in French? Apparently it’s coq de nuit. I like that name a lot. And I love that the French Canadian tourists I am still showing around want to see these birds. Tomorrow, in Galveston, before they embark on their cruise, I will show them where the coqs de nuit like to hang out.
Today we toured Houston on a tour bus and it was really awesome. I tried to show them everything: The Museum District, the Medical Center, Rice University and the Menil, the Water Wall and the Galleria, the neighborhood where the Bushes lived, Memorial Park and the land bridge, bluebonnets blooming. They liked it a lot. I heard them talk amongst themselves saying this was the best tour. Made me so happy!
Tomorrow I get to show them Galveston and les coqs de nuit (hopefully; you can never predict what the coqs de nuit will do during the day).
