I’ve learned that the sprits of departed pets return to visit their loved ones on October 27th, before Dia de Muertos. I wanted to be ready for this, so today I made two ofrendas for Holly – one in each of her homes. For the Galveston Ofrenda, my friend and I went to the beach to scout for a special item she might like. We found a big stick. As I carried it along the beach, all the dogs looked at it covetously. I think Holly would like that – a big stick other dogs are jealous of. I wonder if she’ll visit me tonight.
