Light on Water
by Elena Sandovici

2024. Acrylic on linen.
18×24 inches. $950

Rich with touches of gold as well as lowlights, this ethereal seascape distinguishes itself from other similar Sandovici paintings through its impressionistic focus on light. This painting is bound to bring peace and a glimmer of magic to any room.

Ever since I’ve been back, this painting has captured my attention. There’s something so comforting and compelling about it.

Meanwhile my friend told me she sees lots of herons on her morning runs by the bayou. That means they must be doing just fine. Me, I’m doing better too. Motivated to work. Yesterday I worked on a new book project about Bobby the English Pointer. Then my friend and I attended Summer Nights at the art museum. This is my absolute favorite art event! The museum has grown and expanded during my time in Houston and become quite a fascinating place, full of more art than one can truly take in during a visit – or a lifetime! And there are so many people who show up for these museum nights, dressed up, no less. It makes me feel good about being in Houston, makes me feel that I’m in a place where people value art.
