So, Reader, I did it. I bought the tiny Storm Survivor cottage on Galveston Island. Perhaps I should tell you about this new adventure in a more organized manner, but I’m sitting here on my porch on a windy and humid Island night, a strange looking new moon in the sky, and instead of a full account of my new real estate endeavor, my hopes, dreams, plans, bla bla, I will just tell you that today there were three lizards in my mailbox. All alive and well, thank you very much. I absolutely love lizards. And though, at times I still get overwhelmed, such as today when I set out to cook my first meal in the new house for me and my friend and realized I only had one fork (because my forks are apparently all still packed in a box, probably in Houston), overall I’m overcome with joy and disbelief at the opportunity to make this sweet little home my own. There’s obviously a lot to be done, but even more to be enjoyed. I really love my porch, love the hundred-year-old tree out front, love the whistling birds above all else. The dog, obviously, is having a wonderful time. She especially enjoys long salty walks on the Seawall, which is not that far away.
Let me treat you to a disorganized selection of pictures too, various stages of the moving process, various poses of dog. You’re so very welcome.

I’m so happy for you! My heart is singing! Huge love and congratulations to you and your sweet pupper! Galveston is a magical place! I wish you Many amazing memories to come in your beautiful new home! Hugs and love, Wendy xoxoxoxo
