Today was pretty exciting and productive: My friend Jeremy came to Galveston, riding his motorcycle (in the rain!) all the way from somewhere past Abilene. He came because I complained about not feeling inspired a while ago when we talked. Jeremy is an artist who loves plein air painting above all. He says a good painting is one where you can feel whether it was hot or cold or windy that day. Well, today was very hot. But we sat outside on the screened in porch at Katie’s Seafood and, after devouring a feast of shrimp, we painted what we saw. People came and talked to us. It was pretty awesome.

Later, we walked around the Strand and talked about art. I feel like this was a very good day.

Also, I made some progress on the tiny paintings I’m preparing for my dinner guests on Sunday. And I designed a cover I really like for Holly’s posthumous volume of poetry.

    1. Yes! It will be available on Amazon! I will make a big announcement when it’s ready for people to order!

    2. I have my copy of Dragon Eats Sun, and I love it. It is charming and poignant. Holly’s words are humorous and meaningful. How much she loved you and you loved her comes out on every single page.
      Bravo, Elena.
