Xolo

Do I need a hairless dog that guides souls to the other side? I’m a little bit obsessed with Xolos these days, although I am not ready for another dog, and when I think of dogs I very specifically miss my dog. Still, this was fun to paint.

Also, I’ve had quite an amazing day, and I might be a little overstimulated at the moment – in the best way possible. This morning I sold three paintings to one of my favorite collectors. I also signed a big stack of Breakaway Bridesmaid paperbacks that just arrived at the Then & Now Bookshop, had a good breakfast, drank a good matcha, exchanged a few pleasantries with the lovely people who are fixing my house (yes, all the rotten wood along the eves is in a big pile in the alley and being replaced with the good stuff!), then I drove back to Houston, finished my Paris commissions, painted a Xolo, and went to HEB. After all this excitement, here’s hoping I can sleep! It’s supposed to cool down significantly tonight, and we might all wake up to the first chilly morning of the season.
