Today was the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing. And I realized the Moon Landing is just perfect for watercolor, all those shadows! I ended up being very happy with my painting – which usually makes for a good day.
I was a bit in a fog, but a happy giddy kind of fog, after last night’s party at John’s. I ended up having a nice day seeing friends, talking, and overall feeling lucky that my life is the way it is these days. In the evening I even ended up dancing, at Bisou, one of the most surreal places in Houston, during a friend’s birthday party celebration.
It might be time for this party girl to go night-night, but before I tune out, here are two book recommendations to go with the Moon Landing: Summer of ’69 by Elin Hilderbrand, and Not Knowing by Donna Dechen Birdwell. Also, here’s a picture of last night’s lanterns one of John’s collectors posted on Facebook. Aren’t they beautiful?
The lanterns are delightful and your painting is just perfect to commemorate the moon landing. Nice work!
