Freedom

Guess what? If I were going back to school it would be around this time – and true freedom involves not even knowing exactly when. Instead I slept in and awoke refreshed enough to only require two shots of espresso from my wonderful new machine instead of my usual three. I immersed myself once more into the world of Betty, then did some much needed business stuff, like paying sales tax etc. It was with great delight that I discovered that despite it being a Monday and my to do list rather long, I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the week ahead. I just got things done, then ate a healthy lunch and sat down to take stock of my Dog Days of Summer project. I made this little collage of its highlights. I also realized I have raised almost $300 for BARC and am hoping to raise a little more by the end of the month.

I worked out, painted, and walked the dog through a neighborhood dense with trees at sunset so we could listen to the cicadas – one of my all time favorite sounds. I’m beginning to feel lighter and so much more at ease in my new life, to the point where even a Monday can be a wonderful day.

And how nice you won’t be doing that wicked school commute anymore.
