Inspired by a picture of a Texas park a collector saw on Instagram and sent me. A good reminder that summer is here and I should probably be going to the beach. It’s the season for swimming and fresh peaches, and all of that makes the pandemic fade into the background a little, though not completely, of course.
Also, I was going through my memories and found this painting I made for a collector last year. The quote on it says “civil rights are not a thing of the past but a legacy for the future,” also “hope is the highest from of courage.” I’m glad that at the time I painted this I had the foresight – based on many years as an educator getting to know and love young people and the promise they hold – to give the crowd a contemporary feel.
