So my friends and I have been talking about mint juleps since yesterday when I painted the bottle of bourbon over Facebook Live. I was in a julep kind of mood myself, having just edited a scene in Glory Days where the characters drink juleps. And today the Heights really felt like New Orleans to me, the streets at night so charming with their lush trees, beautiful houses, occasional gas lights, and perpetual wind chimes. I started feeling that maybe it’d be worth going through a considerable amount of trouble to move here.
We had a very small socially distant drink today for a friend who hasn’t been around people in months except on the most essential of errands. Afterwards I walked these beautiful charming streets still feeling a little bit of the magic of the bourbon. It really has been a wonderful day.
