Today marks the 7th anniversary of the publication of Dogs with Bagels. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Galveston, the full moon, driving by the ship channel at night feeling scared and elated, all the hopes and dreams I poured into that project. I’ve learned a lot since then, including the fact that publishing a book will not change your life in a dramatic way. I then learned more and more with every book published.
And yet, sometimes I wonder if the lessons the characters were meant to learn in the story are lessons I myself still have trouble applying in my own life. Have I truly outgrown my inner L?
