Big and Bright

Today I hung the art in the Franklin Gallery – and a few surprise pieces upstairs in the Chrysalis. I decided I wanted to add one more thing: a big and bright abstract piece, the largest painting I’ve ever made. I set about creating it with different size brushes, oil sticks, and vats of paint. John came in at one point, though he was busy with his own stuff next door, and although he’s great at staying focused and not letting my presence distract him, he stopped and looked. “That’s awesome,” he said. “You’re crazy like me, like let me add one more thing at the last minute and let me make it the biggest thing ever.”

I might be a bit exhausted right now, but I’m definitely satisfied with my solo show.
