The Light at the End of the Tunnel

There’s someone I’ve been really worried about ever since the freeze. It’s the owl in my neighborhood. Tonight , for the first time I heard him, his hoots coming from the same tree. I was relieved to know he made it!

And it seems like we, the human residents of Houston, will make it as well. The light at the end of the tunnel is now visible! Today I was able to sign up for a volunteer shift at one of the large vaccination sites for Monday. I will help them direct traffic for five hours, then will get vaccinated! It’s so exciting, not just knowing that I can finally get my vaccine, but also getting to volunteer in its distribution! This will be amazing!

Meanwhile previews for my solo show are still a big success! Today I was entertaining a masked VIP in the Chrysalis, while John was showing his art to two masked (and vaccinated!) collectors next door. And it felt a bit like the good old days before Covid, festive, and normal, and fun!

I think life is about to start again! All my rowdy friends are getting vaccinated!
