Sometimes everything is synchronized in quite a lovely way. I didn’t plan it this way, though it would have been brilliant, but the audio files from the voice actress narrating Storms of Malhado arrived today. Have I told y’all I was getting it made into an audiobook because obviously I love audiobooks above all things?
So here I am, on a rainy day on Galveston Island, sitting in a Victorian house, a storm possibly lurking in the Gulf, listening to the story I wrote. Only now the story is no longer mine. Time has transformed it, and the voice actress has transformed it too, made it her own, and now it’s something strange and magical and it feels at once familiar and foreign. I can’t stop listening. I can’t wait to release it so everyone else can listen to it too!
