Last night my friend and I were talking about spotted hyenas, as one does, so I took some screenshots of images of these funny-looking beasts, and tonight when I was wondering what to draw, the hyenas were there. I decided to google their symbolism because y’all know I do believe in animal guides, and it is a new moon and all. Turns out hyenas are pretty powerful. They get a bad rep for being scavengers, but it turns out hyenas are resourceful, able to overcome adversity and seek out creative solutions to problems. Also, their message seems connected to things that have been on my mind lately – trying to lighten up and be more playful, but also reaching out to new people, expanding my circle which has shrunk too much during the pandemic. I’m glad the new moon sent the hyena my way, because I need it for various reasons.
