Horses for Auction

Is It True About the Horses? 9×12 inches, acrylic on wood, retail value $200, minimum bid $75

As some of you know, I’m hosting a small celebration for the two-year anniversary of my historical novel Storms of Malhado this weekend and raising some money for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy to benefit Ukrainian refugees while I’m at it. 20% of all gallery proceeds this Sunday will be donated to this cause.

Since not everyone can attend the event, but many have expressed how much they support the fundraising effort, I thought I’d make it possible to participate online by auctioning off 3 paintings of varying sizes that go with the theme of the book. You will see these auction items posted to this blog over the next 3 days.

The first auction item is Is It True About the Horses? If you’ve read Storms of Malhado you’ll get the reference, but even if you didn’t you can appreciate this beautiful little painting.

The painting is 9×13 inches acrylic on cradled wood panel (with 1.5 inch margins painted the same vibrant green as the background). The profiles of the horses are outlined in gold oil pen, thus shining brightly depending on the light. This painting would add a beautiful accent to any home.

The retail value of the painting is $200, however bidding starts at a very tempting $75 with minimum bid increments of $10. Please place all bids below as comments on this blog post. Bidding concludes at 4pm CST on Sunday March 27th.
