Spent a lot of time today trying to decide whether I should paint the sky in the owl painting dark like the night sky or leave it red. I finally opted for night sky. The painting popped more with the red, but now it’s more subtle and more mysterious – truly evocative of my actual owl sightings here in the neighborhood.
