Sandhill Crane

It was a slow day. I prepared as best I could for my departure, packed my tiny bag and assembled the dog’s luggage as well. I painted a sandhill crane. I delivered one more piece of art. I got sushi from HEB for dinner and said goodbye to the Yellow Crowned Night Herons. I think their babies have already hatched. There are pieces of blue eggs underneath the trees where they nest. By the time I get back the babies will still have the plumage of juvenile birds. They will not yet be fully grown. But they will have started their flying lessons.
