Off to a Great Start

This year is off to a great start. I woke up rested and refreshed, my friend is still visiting, we had good conversation and fun all day, the weather is beautiful, we painted, walked, and feasted, and I sold six small pieces of art. This was part of an outreach I did yesterday, where I sent some special people an image of 9 paintings I offered for $100 each. I based this mainly on instinct, thinking of a few people who might want to start their year with art, and some of them really did! Three of the paintings are still available – the carousel horse, the bubbles, and the geometric abstract. They are 10×10 inches (except for the geometric abstract, which is 12×12 inches). If you want one of these, and I somehow skipped you in my random outreach efforts, please let me know!

It was definitely nice to start the year with some art sales, and also to see people respond positively to my messages about selling art. Marketing is tough, and sometimes I’m afraid of bothering people or seeming too salesy, but this was a good reminder that people welcome the opportunity to look at and acquire art. So, onward and upward! I resolve to be bold and colorful in the new year.

Today’s watercolor is inspired by Miss Vulpe, of course. Still my biggest current obsession.

I also feel like including a note about the feasting my friend and I did today, since food is obviously of the utmost importance to me. We had wonderful Vietnamese food for lunch, and delicious spicy Szechuan for dinner. I definitely feel like the world is full of wonderful possibilities. And peppers. I love peppers. 🌶️
