It’s a great day to be a non-traditional country music fan! That would be me! I devoured the new Beyoncé album for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’m so glad she did this! Not only reclaiming Black people’s place in country music and addressing the ways in which their contributions have been erased throughout history, but also making some bold statements about genres in general, artistic freedom, and the fact that there should be room for all of us to create, play, and enjoy outside the box.
