Fantasy Project

This morning it stormed. The rain fell down hard, relentless, the way it often does in this part of the world. I was exhausted in so many ways. The dog and I slept in. When we got up, the skies were still dark and my mind was in a fog.

Still, I pulled myself out of my lethargy and started working on the manuscript for Ana Martinez Has No Shame, tackling the comments the editors sent. It’s a strange book, mostly because it’s a fantasy project for me, something I allowed myself to write at a time when this was the story I needed. On the surface, the book seems to be about something else, but really it’s a book about having the courage to be creative and getting support as a creative person in this world. It’s about other kinds of support as well.

Anyway, I might be ready to share part of the first chapter tomorrow. Just a little teaser.
