Want a Free Horse?

Let me first tell you that yesterday’s open studio event at Winter Street Studios hosted by my dear friend Paula Hawkins was wonderful. It felt fresh and fun, a good mix of seeing some of my favorite people and meeting new ones. We had a great crowd, the energy felt good, and overall I experienced the kind of sense of adventure that has eluded me lately. And adventure is what I’m truly after. Without adventure creativity kind of dies. So… I’ve been looking for ways to shake things up, make life more fun, escape what no longer feels right, and reinvent myself à la Miss Vulpe.

When I returned from Europe back in July, I felt like my Heights bungalow no longer suited me. I’ve been feeling this for a while. It’s a beautiful space, but too big, too dark, and while nestled in a charming neighborhood, the surroundings don’t feel as urban and edgy as I would like. Also, I want a pool and a bathtub. And natural light to paint! I want to walk to museums and restaurants and I want to meet a whole bunch of new people who enjoy these things as much as I do.

So… because this is the kind of rash unpredictable person I am, I impulse bought a tiny condo in the very heart of Montrose (I will be able to walk to the Menil, thank you very much!) and I will be moving into it by the end of October with my little dog – but sans horses. I need people to come adopt these beautiful equine artifacts, and while we’re at it, please come take some of the art off my hands too. I don’t need to get rid of everything as I have some very exciting opportunities for showing my art in different venues (something that’s guaranteed to bring new energy to my life and work!) but it would still be nice for a good number of paintings to go. Currently I’m extending an offer of a FREE HORSE OF YOUR CHOICE with any $700 purchase – while supplies last. Please note that the horses I stole from John Ross Palmer are not included in this offer. They have been safely transported to the condo and are enjoying the view of the pool. But I do have several horses of my own, ranging in size, age, and material and you might like them. I’m also heavily discounting some of the art.

Please contact me to make an appointment to come see the art and take advantage of this offer. This is also an excellent opportunity to bring by your friends who might have a new place and need some art. I am willing to work with them and make them some very attractive offers.

Come see me and the horses!

There might be a party where you can say farewell to this space sometime next month, but for now, I welcome private appointments with people who are looking to take advantage of this opportunity to acquire some art at a special price (and maybe a horse or two).
