Today the cold was not that biting, and when the sun shone, especially, it felt good to be outside. I painted a big abstract on my back patio while my adventurous little dog explored places she’s not really supposed to go – like under the house, where she found the bones of some kind of creature. Possum? Bird? I dragged her away for good measure.
I needed a little exploration of my own, so I went to look at the yellow contraption that appeared on the other side of the bay. I also restocked my books at the Then and Now Bookshop, and took some books to a new location: The Railroad Museum will be selling Galveston 1922 and Lola Is Never Drinking Again from now on. It’s also where my paintings of Ashton Villa will be displayed temporarily, so there’s one more reason to stop by there!
In the evening I got to give a walking tour to a very nice group of people. We laughed a lot and enjoyed talking about Galveston. I hope that, as the weather gets nicer, there’ll be more walking tours!
