Today I met with a new artist friend and we went on an expedition to the Museum of Find Arts to sketch. This kind of thing is very different from what I usually do, as I normally paint and draw at home, and work from pictures. It’s harder to do it by looking at the thing directly, especially if there’s moving elements, such as people milling about. But part of the fun is in the challenge – also there’s a certain spontaneity to trying to capture things fast by doing good old fashioned looking.
