What do you do with an extra day? Somehow, I got mixed up and thought today was Saturday, that I had to clean for my AirBnb guests and go back to Houston. Then, while drinking my second cup of coffee, I realized that it was only Friday, that I had a whole extra day to enjoy in my little house on the Island.
Here’s what I did with my bonus day: I sat outside and painted a cow wearing a cowboy hat for Go Texan Day. I took my little dog to the beach and made her smile. I went to see the pelicans with my friend and we also ate king cake ice cream downtown.
The weather was absolutely perfect, warm with just an undertone of coolness. In the evening, the people staying in the AirBnb next door wore sparkly hats and went to see the parades, but I just watched a movie and called it an early night.
