Today was a beautiful day, a day where I experienced the kind of Island peaceful feeling that sometimes eludes me. I tried to capture this in the new seascape I painted.
There was a beach walk, a visit to the League-Kempner House, and a carefree little interlude where my friend and I went to check out the circus that’s in town, but we didn’t actually go to the circus. We loitered outside, figured out where they kept the horses, and went to look at them. They were beautiful big horses, definitely well fed and well cared for. After ascertaining that the circus horses do, indeed, have a very good life, we went to have gumbo and fried oysters on the Seawall and went home to sit on the porch.
