Today I went to the library to print off a few copies of my new manuscript for a special event I’m preparing for my top readers. I had no idea so many library goers are Labubu fans, but I got a lot of compliments on Sisi, who was dangling defiantly from my Longchamp bag like the little monster she is, and it made me think about this new trend. Perhaps we are all looking for an escape? Something whimsical to remind us to be playful? A little bit of cuteness in the midst of all the chaos. It was a good reminder to keep painting and writing. The world needs stories, it needs color, it needs interesting distractions.
Also, I ran into my friend and her team of coworkers at the library. Obviously this is where all the cool people hang out! I took this as another sign that I am on the right track.
After the library, where printing can indeed be done but is rather cumbersome, I treated myself to a burger and then a mango matcha (because they go so well together, lol). I was kind of on a high the whole day. I freed myself from cleaning and freed myself from other commitments too. I did not have to go to Galveston. I could be here in the big city living my best life.
