Halloween was a lot of fun this year! I dressed up as Lana Del Rey and went to some of my favorite places, obviously to Maceo’s, but also Hendley Market, The League-Kempner House, High Horse Hat Bar, and more. It’s hard to eat a roast beef sandwich with red lipstick on, while your locks are blowing in the Island breeze, but somebody’s gotta do it! In the evening, I took my wig off, and my friend came down from Houston so we could have dinner and catch up and do a little ghostly walk around the neighborhood! We looked at the old houses, some decorated, some not, got treats from some of the neighbors, and I told her the story of the ghost bride at the Galvez – which I don’t believe in! We made it all the way to the water, to where the Balinese Room used to stand. Lots of lights of ships shone in the darkness. It wasn’t even cold outside. It was a beautiful evening.
I tried to paint something scary this afternoon. Dishes in the sink! I like how they turned out.
