What I wanted most for my birthday, besides world peace and a new sea turtle hospital, was to finally take a carriage ride with O’Malley the beautiful horse. Reader, O’Malley came to pick me up from my little house, and one of my besties and I got driven around in style to gentle rocking and the sound of hoof beats all throughout the historic district and even on the very noisy Strand. People on motorcycles revved their engines and were not very respectful of the fact they were sharing the road with a horse, but O’Malley is a well trained professional, and he paid them no mind.
As to the sea turtles, we raised $400. I’m absolutely thrilled and plan to make the donation tomorrow. Maybe it can buy a tiny tank for one of the sea turtle patients to recover in? Or maybe just a whole lot of shrimp. It’s still a contribution, and a bigger one than last year, so it makes me feel quite optimistic.
