Big Birthday Auction – Bid Here!

Every now and then, I like to do an art auction and donate part of my proceeds to an organization of my choice. Last year, for my birthday, I was able to raise a little bit of money for the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research here in Galveston, and guess what? They are still a favorite of mine, so why don’t we have another auction? And this time, let’s raise more!

I have selected a series of nature-themed paintings that I love, and I decided to put them up for auction, and donate 25% of my proceeds to the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research. I’ve done many auctions on this website before, but this one will be different: This time I will take my time both building up excitement, and let people bid for longer. Bidding ended at 9pm on May 23rd. Thanks for participating! I will now contact the winners. I aim for closing all sales by Monday evening so I can finalize the sea turtle donation.

Cute little note: Last year, after making my post auction donation, a friend who works for the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research, said they tend to refer to that type of small donation as “shrimp money,” because apparently they buy lots of shrimp to feed the in-patient turtles. Last year’s “shrimp money” came to $130. Let’s do better this year!!! Not that “shrimp money” is not welcomed and much needed, but maybe this year we can get the turtles something more substantial?
