Today I painted the McDonald Observatory, which was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to West Texas. I painted this during Open Studios at Sabine Street. Then I went to a party and this was really fun. My friends who bought my Girl with Doves hosted a party for Holiday Lights in the Heights. I’d never gone to see the Lights in the Heights before, and it was really special. Then when I got to my friends’ house, everything was quite wonderful: nice people, delicious little burger sliders (I had three!), cookies with big dark chocolate chips, a Christmas tree, a fire outside, and lots of laughter. Much as I don’t like cold weather, I do love it when I come home from a party and my hair smells like fire.
