Today I bought macarons because the aunt who comes to visit the old ladies every other day loves them.
“These are nothing,” my old lizard declared. “It’s as if you take a bite of nothing, they dissolve in your mouth.”
The cats lounged lazily on the garage. Grandma refused to get out of bed. We ate polenta with feta cheese, then with the stew with peppers and onions my old lizard worked nearly three days to prepare. I showed my aunt my pictures from Paris, also the video from my solo show, and pictures from the graduation gala. I’m still sad about leaving soon, but I’m starting to plan my next adventure.
