Still no election results… Between collective anxiety about the future of our country and the world and sadness over just how divided our society is, and my own personal anxiety over the move, I needed something to take my mind off things. So I asked everyone on Facebook to send pictures of their pets and I did a bunch of very quick sketches of some of them. I didn’t use a pencil, I drew directly in pen – a bold move and quite out of character as mistakes could not be erased. But that gave the whole exercise ease and spontaneity. Some sketches are better than other. My only regret is that I couldn’t sketch all the lovely pets people sent my way. There were too many! And they made me happy. I think I will repeat this exercise sometime.
