Today I painted two very special personalized copies of the Glory Days of Aimée Bonnard for the book’s Mega Sponsors, Bob and Rosa Pollard. I chose to paint some very famous prostitutes, creating my own rendering of Picasso’s Demoiselles D’Avignon, a painting that actually was inspired by the brothels on Carrer d’Avinyó in Barcelona, one of my favorite streets in the Gothic Quarter.

The stars were doing something weird today, and I was a bit off. Thanks, Mars! But working on these paintings was fun. And I also got to do a bit of writing, so the day was not wasted. Though it did include a very long nap, and a desire to stay away from everyone, to burrow under blankets like my little dog and hide from the world.
