Happy Year of the Ox! I wish I were in Chinatown with dancing dragons downstairs and bakeries selling milk tea and hot buns. Surely the time will come again for such experiences, though the Year of the Ox announces itself as yet another year when we have to be patient.
Its first day was a very good one for me, despite the cold front that has descended upon us. I went to John’s, where Merari had turned on the heat for me in the Chrysalis. She had also printed pictures of Dolly Parton for me to paint. And the dogs were waiting to cuddle. And John brought me a Vietnamese sandwich. Few things make me as happy as a Vietnamese sandwich!
I’m still not thrilled about the cold front, and the hard freeze expected for Monday night really scares me. But today I had a nice day.
