Jasmine and Wind Chimes

A rainy spring day today, but so green and scented with jasmine that I didn’t even mind the rain. At some point in the evening I was writing with my windows open, and the room smelled like the jasmine outside, and I could hear my new wind chimes. It was a good moment.

Today’s painting is inspired by a Houston artist whose work I really like, Laura Tyagi, and by her chicken, Frooti. She posted a picture I loved of herself holding Frooti, and I just had to paint it.

I got to see Bobby and Nancy today too! And Oliver, the carousel horse. I went to John’s and we painted together the way we used to back when I was in the program three years ago. It was fun!
