Painted in December 2020, in a year when I couldn’t travel to Paris because of the pandemic, this painting offers up a hopeful contrast between wintry grays and slightly warmer tones of pink, orange, and yellow. Created with Charvin paints, the painting is inspired by one of my stays in Paris in winter. While I much prefer spring or summer, the city’s own coloring matched the winter weather, and there was, despite the cold, an atmosphere of joy in the air. The view of the Eiffel Tower from the Palais de Tokyo, during the day, without its glittering light display, is something that stuck with me from one of those trips.
The retail value of this painting is $1800, but bidding will start at $600. Minimum bid increment: $50.
Please place all bids as comments to this blog post. Bidding concludes at 8pm CST.
