A few, though by no means all, of today’s highlights:
My favorite hibiscus margarita at Cuchara. Patio dining, even on a cold day, because my friend and I are not yet ready to go inside. Fun to revisit one of our favorite haunts. And the food, as always, was lovely. For some reason we especially loved the refried beans, a side that’s often taken for granted.
Intrigued by the interesting visitor to Galveston’s harbor these days: The Nao Santa Maria, a replica of the ship on which Columbus traveled to America. She will be here until May 2nd, and I’ll get to see her on Saturday when I go there for my book signing.
Other than that, we had cool weather, suitable to long dog naps. And the magnolias keep blooming.
