I love hosting painting parties at the gallery, and if it’s to celebrate the birthday of someone I love, even better. Today was extremely fun! There were children here, there were my friend’s lovely parents, her friends, her sister, there was pink lemonade (for the children), champagne for us, a cake the biggest dog in the universe wanted but couldn’t reach, and there were fun times playing with paint, brushes, scrapers, and palette knives.
After everyone left and I consoled the poor cake-deprived dog with a little walk, I resumed a favorite tradition I haven’t been able to practice in years: I took the leftover paint on everyone’s palette and created an abstract painting trying to capture the good energy of the party.
