A Piece of the Tremont House

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know how much the Tremont House hotel means to me and Holly. In fact, with all our relocations, we can say it’s been a much needed constant in our lives – a place that feels like home.

Now our beloved hotel is getting a major makeover and yesterday it held a sale of old furnishings and accessories. You bet I was there with bells on! I managed to buy two beautiful armchairs and got some champagne buckets and a few other odds and ends too. I just couldn’t resist bringing a piece of the Tremont House home with me.

I was wondering if Holly would have some special attachment to these chairs, given her fondness of the Tremont House throughout the years. I think she understood the connection and immediately claimed ownership.

It seemed appropriate, too, to have my new Tremont House mementos here during my anniversary party for Storms of Malhado today. It was a very nice event, and we raised $280 to donate to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy and also gathered some nice canned goods and such for the Houston Food Bank.
