Coming Soon: The Glory Days of Aimée Bonnard Audiobook

I am thrilled to announce that the talented Stacey Lind has agreed to narrate the upcoming audiobook of The Glory Days of Aimée Bonnard! Fans of Aimée are in for a real treat! Not only does Stacey have a degree in drama, as well as impressive acting experience, but she gets Aimée and the other characters, and we’re having lots of fun discussing this project. Y’all know how much I love audiobooks, and just like in recording the audiobook for Storms of Malhado (which I still love listening to every time it rains), I’m looking forward to the voice actress adding her own magical touch to the story of the most expensive woman in Galveston and bringing it to life.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know this audiobook project suffered a few setbacks (I’m looking at you, Kickstarter campaign!), but in the end what’s important is getting over the occasional bump in the road, keeping in mind what the big, fabulous, important goals are, and finding alternate routes to get there. I never gave up on this audiobook dream and now I found the perfect person to work with. This will be magical and I couldn’t be more excited!

…and as if the Universe wanted to give me extra encouragement, this beautiful painting of the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, inspired by Aimée’s story and by a picture taken by Bob Pollard, whom the book is dedicated to, sold just last week as I was reviewing voice auditions. Who needs a Kickstarter when you can sell art? It’s like Aimée herself sending me money (which she generously does every month anyway, through book sales, so I figure I should lavish upon her all the luxuries she longs for.)
