Today some of my top collectors and I met at the Menil Collection to look at the works of Victor Brauner. It was such a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Of course, we ended the experience with wine at the Bistro Menil, just chatting and laughing and sitting outside enjoying the beautiful day. It was great to see some of my favorite people in one of my favorite places.
In the evening I was good and tired, because in addition to the art outing, my friend and I took a super long walk which was also great fun, especially since we got a bit turned around and didn’t get to our actual destination. But this is what makes something an adventure – it doesn’t go entirely according to plan.
Anyway, I was tired in the evening but I really wanted to paint something so I painted an owl. It took a while to get him to look satisfyingly owlish, but I do think he turned out pretty well.
