Happy Year of the Dragon! I didn’t get to see any lion dancers this Lunar New Year, but things do seem fresh and exciting, like the energy of this beautiful scaly beast has just swooped in.
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, so the Christmas tree turned Mardi Gras tree will come down. I will miss it! It was a good little tree. Perhaps I should keep it longer?
What else is new: This weekend I helped my friend arrange a tiny portion of her very cool and varied art collection – including quite a bit of my own work. It’s always fun to get to revisit older pieces – especially foxes and owls. And a little portrait of Holly.
The arrival of the lunar new year made me reminisce about February 2020, and my time in Chinatown in NYC. It’s a good time and place to reminisce about, since Chinatown features as a prominent location in book 3 in the Miss Vulpe series, which I’m still working on and enjoying immensely.
Also, here’s a random picture of the Sculpture Garden at night, because although mentally I might travel to NYC and a few other places with Miss Vulpe these days, I’m actually really loving being in Houston right now.
